US President Donald Trump announced that he has ordered his Secretary of Commerce to impose an additional 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports from Canada, bringing the total tariff level to 50%. Trump stated that this decision will take effect as of tomorrow morning.
Standard Chartered Bank: US Recession Concerns Overblown, Two Rate Cuts Expected
Steven Englander, Standard Chartered Bank’s global head of G10 FX research and North American macro strategy, said that despite slowing economic growth in the US, recession concerns are overblown.
