MARKET COMPASS – July 29, 2025
Cautious Stance Ahead of FED
- The trade deal reached over the weekend between the US and Europe does not seem to have generated the expected enthusiasm in the markets. Some Europeans believe that the concessions to the US may cause problems in the future. Another agenda item on trade negotiations is the ongoing US-China talks. US Commerce Secretary Lutnick said that the trade truce could be extended for 90 days. Donald Trump stated that the global basic tariff rate will be between 10%-15%.
- Trump, who has recently fallen out with Russian leader Putin, said that he will give 10-12 days to reach an agreement with Ukraine, and if there is no agreement within this period, he will impose sanctions on Russia.
- We are watching a flat course with intermediate reaction rises in major digital asset prices. However, this band is just below the ATH levels. We will closely monitor macro indicators to be released today, but tomorrow’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decisions and critical US data later in the week will determine the direction.

Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS); Shows the number of job openings during the reported month, excluding the agricultural sector. This JOLTS data is closely monitored as job creation is an important leading indicator of consumer spending, which accounts for a large share of overall economic activity. It is released monthly and approximately 35 days after the end of the month. A lower-than-expected release is expected to have a positive impact on cryptocurrencies.
CB Consumer Confidence; It is the result of a survey of approximately 3,000 individual consumers asking respondents to assess the relative level of current and future economic conditions. It measures financial confidence as a leading indicator of consumer spending, which accounts for a large share of overall economic activity. It is published monthly, on the last Tuesday of the current month.
