Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Appears in US Court for the First Time

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro appeared before a federal court in New York for the first time and denied all charges brought by the US. Maduro claimed he was “kidnapped” by the US military, calling himself a prisoner of war and asserting his presidential immunity.
