Trump: Proposed 50% Tariffs on EU Products from June 1
US President Donald Trump has toughened his criticism of the European Union, proposing to impose a 50% tariff directly on the EU as of June 1, 2025. In his social media statement, Trump said that the EU’s founding purpose was to gain a trade advantage over the US and that the annual trade deficit of more than 2.5 trillion dollars is unacceptable. He also stated that products made in the US will be exempt from this tariff.
Trump: Apple to face 25% tariff if iPhone production doesn’t move to the US
Recalling his past meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook, Trump emphasized his demand that iPhones be manufactured in the US. Trump said that if Apple continues to manufacture in India or other countries, the company will face tariffs of at least 25% on imports into the US.
