US Senators Question Trump’s Middle East Special Representative Steve Witkoff’s Crypto Assets
Eight Democratic Senators stated in a joint letter sent to Steve Witkoff, Trump’s Middle East Special Representative, that Witkoff’s ownership of crypto assets while performing public duties could create a conflict of interest. The Senators emphasized that Witkoff still holds shares in World Liberty Financial and its affiliated companies, which he established with Trump, and that this could create conflicts of interest that overlap with his diplomatic role in the UAE. Recall that in May of this year, World Liberty Financial announced that MGX, owned by the UAE government, had invested $2 billion in Binance, financed by the company’s stablecoin $USD1. The senators requested an official response from Witkoff by October 31.
iShares Launches Third Bitcoin ETP Tranche on the London Stock Exchange
iShares Digital Assets AG has launched the third tranche of its Bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP). A total of 1.13 million new securities were issued, bringing the ETP’s total volume to 61.53 million units. The new tranche will begin trading on the London Stock Exchange under the code IB1T on Thursday, October 23, with a unit price of $11.

Vanadi Coffee (VANA.MC), traded on the Spanish stock exchange, has increased its total holdings to 109 BTC with two new Bitcoin purchases. The company maintains its expectation that Bitcoin will become widespread as a “cash alternative” in corporate balance sheets by 2025.

Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis called for the swift implementation of open banking rules in a letter to CFPB Director Russ Vought. Lummis stated that the final version of open banking rule 1033 must be published without delay to prevent large banks from blocking public access to digital asset platforms for “political reasons.”
Aave DAO Proposes $50 Million Buyback Program Budget
The Aave community has proposed an annual $50 million buyback program for the $AAVE token. The program will be run by the TokenLogic team and the Aave Finance Committee and anticipates the purchase of between $250,000 and $1.75 million worth of AAVE weekly. This plan was developed to increase Aave’s long-term capital efficiency and strengthen ecosystem liquidity.
