White House: Tariff Levels to be Reduced to 10% Overall During Negotiations
Trump announced on social media that more than 75 countries have requested negotiations with the United States to find solutions to their trade problems, and that reciprocal tariffs have been suspended for 90 days. While the suspension takes effect immediately, tariffs on most countries will be reduced to 10% during this period. Mexico and Canada were excluded from this exemption.
EU Imposes 25 Percent Tariffs on the US
The EU Council decided to impose a 25% tariff on imports from the US in response to the Trump administration’s imposition of tariffs on steel and aluminum products. 27 EU member states unanimously supported this measure.

In the minutes of the Fed’s March 18-19 meeting, it was noted that economic uncertainties have increased and it was deemed appropriate to keep the interest rate unchanged. Fed official Musallem said that economic growth in the US could fall significantly below the trend level. Stating that unemployment may increase due to new import tariffs, Musallem expects growth to be around 2%.
Fed’s Kashkari: Tariffs Will Complicate Rate Cuts
Fed official Kashkari stated that Trump’s tariffs may increase inflation in the short term and therefore the likelihood of a rate cut has decreased. Although economic growth has suffered, it may be difficult for the Fed to change its monetary policy, he said.
Paul Atkins Confirmed as SEC Chairman
The US Senate confirmed the appointment of Paul Atkins as SEC Chairman by 52 votes to 44. Atkins’ term of office will last until June 5, 2026. The new chairman announced that creating a regulatory framework for digital assets is his top priority.
US Stocks: Trump’s Trade Policy Softening Pushed Markets Higher
US stocks rallied strongly after Trump suspended the tariffs. The Nasdaq gained more than 12%, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones indices also posted double-digit gains. Crypto stocks also took a share of this rise; Strategy (MSTR) gained 24.76% and Coinbase (COIN) gained 16.91%.

According to Lookonchain data, Tether Treasury issued $1 billion of new USDT on the Tron network. Thus, Tether has issued a total of 8 billion USDT on Tron since the beginning of 2025. On the other hand, 1 billion USDT was destroyed on Ethereum.
