White House: Tariff Levels to be Reduced to 10% Overall During Negotiations
Trump announced on social media that more than 75 countries have requested negotiations with the United States to find solutions to their trade problems, and that reciprocal tariffs have been suspended for 90 days. While the suspension takes effect immediately, tariffs on most countries will be reduced to 10% during this period. Mexico and Canada were excluded from this exemption.
EU Imposes 25 Percent Tariffs on the US
The EU Council decided to impose a 25% tariff on imports from the US in response to the Trump administration’s imposition of tariffs on steel and aluminum products. 27 EU member states unanimously supported this measure.

Fed official Kashkari stated that Trump’s tariffs may increase inflation in the short term and therefore the likelihood of a rate cut has decreased. Although economic growth has suffered, it may be difficult for the Fed to change its monetary policy, he said.
