September and October US Job Openings Met Expectations

According to ADP data in the US, payrolls increased by an average of 4,750 people per week over the four weeks leading up to November 22. September JOLTS job openings were revised upward to 7.658 million, while October data also exceeded expectations at 7.670 million. The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that the December 2025 nonfarm payroll data will be released on January 9, 2026. The CPI report is scheduled to be released on January 13, 2026, as planned.

Trump: “I Was the Longest-Serving and Most Successful President”

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said he was the hardest-working president in history and achieved the best results. He said he grew the economy, ended eight wars, and brought big companies back to the US. He also said he spearheaded the rebuilding of the military and the implementation of the largest tax cut in history. Finally, he emphasized that he received “excellent” results in health assessments conducted by doctors.

Powell’s Message and Hassett’s Balanced Stance Shape the Market

Two articles by Nick Timiraos on the Fed suggest that Powell may adopt a more cautious and hawkish tone in the interest rate cut process. According to Timiraos, despite divisions within the Fed, Powell indicates that the bar for further easing will be higher.
